MISS NEW JERSEY SPREADS WEB PIRACY MESSAGE
Miss New Jersey AMY POLUMBO has embarked on a campaign to spread the message about web piracy after she faced losing her title over the issue.
The 22-year-old beauty queen posted racy photos of herself on social networking site Facebook, only to receive a threatening letter just weeks after winning her crown - jeopardising her claim to the Miss New Jersey crown.
In response to the letter, Polumbo went public and revealed the photos of herself on TV, but managed to keep her crown - and is now set to deliver two seminars about Internet safety to the Freshmen of Wagner College, Staten Island.
Speaking to the New York Daily News, she says, "Someone I considered to be a friend of mine, who had access to my 'private' networking site, tried to destroy my reputation.
"I now know first hand how easy it is for someone to take advantage of others online."
