MISERABLE WEILAND IN NEED OF A LAUGH

Rocker SCOTT WEILAND credits a year of personal and professional woes for a prolific songwriting spell - but they've cost him his good humour.
The former Velvet Revolver singer was sacked as the frontman for the group and spent a spell behind bars, while his brother died and his mother was diagnosed with cancer.
Weiland poured all these negatives into songs and now he has more tracks than he knows what to do with - but he's in need of a good laugh, because he hasn't found anything the break his misery since he watched movie Wedding Crashers a year ago.
He tells Spin magazine, "It's been a rough year for me. My brother died, my mother got cancer and my wife and I have our issues. It hasn't been the greatest year for a belly of laughs.
"But then it's been a great year for my music. The thing is, unfortunately, I write the best songs when I'm miserable."
