HEATHER MILLS - MILLS TO INVESTIGATE MCCARTNEY'S ACCOUNTS

HEATHER MILLS is reportedly planning on hiring a firm of accountants to investigate her estranged husband's fortune in a bid to land a larger divorce settlement. The former glamour model won $33 million (GBP16.5 million) cash and assets worth $15.6 million (GBP7.8 million) last Monday (17Mar08) following the breakdown of her four-year marriage to the former Beatle . But in a rant outside the London court, Mills insisted her former lover was not being honest about his wealth, saying, "The judge said Paul was only worth GBP400 million ($800 million), but everyone has known he has been worth GBP800 million ($1.6 billion) for the last 15 years." The 40-year-old hired British accountants Lee and Allen to probe MCCartney's fortune throughout the divorce battle, but the judge overseeing the case confirmed that their requests for information had been denied. And now British newspaper the Daily Mail is reporting that Millls is planning on hiring a new firm to examine MCCartney's music rights, business assets and property portfolio. The publication also claims Mills is determined to prove the couple's four-year-old daughter, Beatrice, cannot survive on the $70,000 (GBP35,000) allocated to her living expenses in the settlement. A source tells the publication, "Heather says she can prove the amount of money she is being given to look after Bea will not last over the year. She is putting it to the test. She is keeping every receipt. "Heather is hoping Paul will discretely make a payment to her annually rather than go back to court."
