CELINE DION - MIKA SCOOPS FOUR GONGS AT WORLD MUSIC AWARDS

CELINE DION, AKON and MIKA were among a string of musicians to be honoured at the World Music Awards on Sunday night (04Nov07). British newcomer Mika took home four prizes, capturing awards for best-selling new artist, best-selling male entertainer, best-selling pop/rock artist and best-selling British artist at the ceremony in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Hip-hop star Akon was awarded best-selling R+B male artist, best-selling African Artist and best-selling internet artist. Singer Dion received the Legend Award and Rihanna was named entertainer of the year as well as best-selling pop female artist at the star-studded ceremony in Monaco, France.
