GEORGE MICHAEL - MICHAEL: 'SEX ARREST WAS DELIBERATE'
Pop star GEORGE MICHAEL was relieved to be caught propositioning a cop in a Los Angeles public bathroom - because it forced him to finally reveal he was gay.
Ten years on from his infamous 1998 arrest, the singer admits his recklessness was deliberate.
He was charged with lewd conduct, pleaded no contest and was ordered to pay a fine and complete community service.
He explains, "It was a very eventful and bizarrely dark period for me that I thought was going to go on forever. It was a huge relief and it took me about a year to admit to myself that I had done it, deliberately.
"The truth is, cruising has gone on for as long as there have been men trying to hide their sexuality."

Liar. "It's a weird thing because I feel like I've really learned something from
that. Because I did something that I've never done in my life which is take risks
with other people." It's not just about drugs and driving...cruising is a risk to
everyone; and don't give me the spiel about practicing safe sex. If you can number your sex
partners in the 'hundreds' you cannot honestly say you had 'safe sex' every time.
You endanger every person you do have sex with, including your current partner, but
have no sense of the danger involved. You are not just exposing yourself to disease
and death. You infect everyone.
