Hollywood actor MICHAEL DOUGLAS found his father KIRK "intimidating" when he was growing up. The 61-year-old star was amazed by his dad's work ethic, but believes his ambition kept them apart emotionally. He says, "I had SPARTACUS as a father. It was overwhelming, he worked too hard, the guy didn't stop. "I always admired his tenacity and stamina but he was intimidating to me as a child. Like a lot of people, he was consumed with ambition and his career."
