MEYERS NAMED AS HOPE FOUNDATION AMBASSADOR

Actor JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS has been named as the new ambassador for a charity which campaigns for the rights of street children in India. The Tudors star will be the face of the Hope Foundation, an Irish organisation which was set up in 1999 to aid underprivileged children in the city of Calcutta. He says, "I'm deeply honoured to become an ambassador for an organisation like the Hope Foundation. "If I can use my name and celebrity to advance awareness of the great work the Hope Foundation does in some small way then I am delighted to be able to do so."
