METALLICA - METALLICA WORK 9-5 ON NEW ALBUM
METALLICA's new album is taking longer to make, because the bandmembers have had to shed their wild rocker pasts and become responsible adults.
The rock legends spent almost all of 2006 writing tracks for the new LP and have earmarked most of this year to record it - a stark contrast to the past when they would work tirelessly, fuelled by drink and drugs, until the album was completed.
Drummer LARS ULRICH explains, "I don't think it's taking a particularly longer time than it has, it's just that the work is spread out. The days of 16-hour studio days and six days a week, that's not really happening. We sort of come down here at, you know, nine in the morning and then we sit and work 'til we have to go pick the kids up, or 'til somebody has to go to the dentist or something."
