MELROSE PLACE - MELROSE PLACE STAR GIVES BIRTH

Former MELROSE PLACE star KELLY RUTHERFORD has given birth to a baby boy with businessman husband DANIEL GIERSCH. Rutherford, 37, who played prostitute MEGAN LEWIS MANCINI on the hit show, gave birth today (18OCT06) at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. HERMES GUSTAF DANIEL GIERSCH was weighed in at 8.5 pounds and is the first child for the couple, who married in August (06). After being in labour throughout the night, Rutherford is now resting comfortably at home with her new baby. She tells American publication People, "We live so close to the hospital, we thought we could either hang here and eat hospital food or go home and order take-out from (Beverly Hills Italian restaurant) La Scala. "We are all feeling good and I am so blissed out and tired." She says being a new mother is "just amazing" adding, "It's incredible to see these little beings."
