Rocker JOHN MELLENCAMP is resisting efforts to turn his attentions to politics - because he's convinced he'd make a lousy governor.
The JACK + DIANE singer is often petitioned by fans in his native Indiana to run for election, but he insists his rock 'n' roll lifestyle will get in the way of any political ambitions.
He tells Blender magazine, "There was actually a guy who tried to get me to run for governor of Indiana, but I sleep until 11 in the morning and stay up 'til three.
"I don't think the legislature could keep my hours."
