MCCORMICK'S DRUG BATTLE AFTER BRADY BUNCH SUCCESS
Former BRADY BUNCH pin-up MAUREEN MCCORMICK is set to uncover her battles with drug addiction and detail her romantic trysts with MICHAEL JACKSON in her forthcoming memoirs.
The actress, who played perfect teen Marcia Brady in the hit 1970s series, turned to drugs after her run on the successful show ended in 1974 and she struggled to find more TV work.
In her new book, Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice, the star talks candidly about how her life spiralled out of control once she became addicted to cocaine.
She writes, "My life after Marcia Brady was a whirlwind of experimentation and searching that evolved into a grim spiral of avoidance, denial and self-destruction.
"Sometimes I wonder how my life would've been different if I'd said no and never done another line (of cocaine) again. But that's not what happened. It was as if I had stepped out of my normal shell full of insecurities and worries and into a different and far cooler, mellower, and more fun skin."
MCCormick also reveals details of her dates with funnyman Steve Martin, co-star Barry Williams, who played her TV sibling Greg Brady, and pop superstar Michael Jackson
She writes of her time with the Thriller singer, "Once we went ice-skating and he held my hand as we glided around the rink. I wondered if he might try to kiss me, but he didn't. After another outing, he did give me a kiss goodbye. But it was only a gentle peck on the cheek."
The book is slated for a U.S. release on 14 October (08).
