BEATLES star PAUL MCCARTNEY will perform an emotional tribute to his late wife LINDA MCCARTNEY when he receives his Lifetime Achievement Award at tonight's Brit Awards.

A report in the Daily Mail claims that the musical legend will perform his hit single LIVE AND LET DIE in honour of Linda – who died of cancer ten years ago next month.

The JAMES BOND theme was written by the couple in 1973 and was nominated for an Oscar.

He is also planning to sing HEY JUDE as a tribute to JOHN LENNON.

The newspaper quotes Sir Paul as saying: "Live And Let Die is the song that reminds me of Linda. Hey Jude reminds me of John."

He added that receiving the award would be an honour stating "I'm very chuffed. It's much appreciated".

Currently the former BEATLES guitarist is in the process of divorcing HEATHER MILLS.

The estranged couple have spent the past week battling their case out in the High Court but failed to reach a settlement.

Meanwhile, other acts due to perform at the musical event include AMY WINEHOUSE, who will join MARK RONSON for a rendition of VALERIE .

Rumours abounded that the songstress would pull out of her appearance after she missed a rehearsal on Monday to visit her husband in prison.

Pint-sized pop princess Kylie Minogue will also entertain the crowd, as well as presenting Sir Paul with his accolade.

The entire proceedings will be overseen by rock legend OZZY OSBOURNE and his wife Sharon.
