MANSON RELIVES SELF-HARM PAST TO HELP TEENAGERS
GARBAGE singer SHIRLEY MANSON has spoken out about her self-harming past to raise awareness of sufferers' "addiction" to cutting themselves. The Scottish star fronts new documentary CUT: TEENS AND SELF-INJURY and hopes the movie will prevent youngsters from wounding themselves. She says, "It needs to be talked about and it needs to be talked about now. "I think I started cutting because I was an inarticulate teenager. There was a lot of information that I was unable to properly articulate, so it came out in strange ways and the cutting was one of them. "From the people I have spoken to, it seems that most people grow out of it and it doesn't seem to be something that they carry with them through adulthood. "Of course, there's exceptions to every rule but, in general, it seems people just somehow pass that moment."
