MANIC STREET PREACHERS - MANICS WANT TO PERFORM WITH KYLIE

The MANIC STREET PREACHERS would like KYLIE MINOGUE to join them on stage when they perform at the Shockwaves NME Awards Big Gig in February.
Speaking to NME, NICKY WIRE, the band's bassist and lyricist, said: "I'd like to invite Kylie to do something with us. It just feels like a fantastic opportunity actually."
He added that the band would like to emulate QUEEN's performance at Live Aid and not "bore anyone with album tracks or anything".
Wire continued to say that the band want to "play our history and make it as entertaining and exciting as possible".
He also revealed that they would be interested in performing with TOM MEIGHAN from KASABIAN on a special version of THE MASSES AGAINST THE CLASSES and TOM CLARKE from THE ENEMY on MOTOWN JUNK.
"We've got loads of ideas, there's loads of people we really like, whether they want to I dunno," the bassist continued.
Other acts performing at the concert, which will be held after the awards ceremony, include BLOC PARTY, the KAISER CHIEFS and the KLAXONS.
The MANIC STREET PREACHERS will be receiving the Godlike Genius Award at the February event.
Previous winners include NEW ORDER and PRIMAL SCREAM.
Dan Silver, associate editor of NME magazine, said: "The Manic Street Preachers are such deserving winners of the Godlike Genius title.
"To have them headlining the first ever Big Gig too is just amazing."
In a recent interview with the South Wales Echo, frontman JAMES DEAN BRADFORD admitted that accepting the award will be "bittersweet" due to former band member RICHEY JAMES EDWARDS' disappearance.
Richey was an original member of the Welsh foursome but mysteriously disappeared after checking out of a London hotel in 1995.
Bradford added that Richey deserves credit for the award due to his involvement on their third critically-acclaimed album THE HOLY BIBLE.
