NORMAN MAILER - MAILER RECOVERING AFTER SURGERY

Pulitzer Prize-winning author NORMAN MAILER is recovering after surgery to remove scar tissue around his lung. The 84-year-old literary giant was admitted to Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, New York last week (ends12Oct07), and the operation took place earlier this week (beg15Oct07). Mailer won Pulitzer Prizes for his books The Armies Of The Night and The Executioner's Song.
