MADONNA - MADONNA RETAINS U.K. SINGLES CHART REIGN

MADONNA's domination over the U.K. singles chart continues - as track 4 MINUTES stayed at number one for the fourth week.
Sam Sparro's Black and Gold remains at number two, while Wiley's Wearing My Rolex stays at three. Will.i.am's collaboration with Girls Aloud star Cheryl Tweedy shot to number four, with Usher's Love In The Club rounding off the top five.
Coldplay's comeback single Violet Hill was the highest new entry - although downloads of the single for free from the band's website last month (Apr08) meant the track was not eligible to appear in the Top 40 at the time.
But the Material Girl was knocked off the top spot in the U.K. album chart, with Hardy Candy usurped by German techno band Scooter landing the number one spot with Jumping All Over The World, their first U.K. album since 2002.
Madonna's album dropped to number two. Duffy's Rockferry is at three, while Sam Sparro's eponymous LP is at four. Portishead's Third source is at five.
