JENNIFER LOPEZ - LOPEZ LAUNCHES AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL WEBSITE INTO MURDERS

JENNIFER LOPEZ has teamed up with human rights charity Amnesty International to launch a new bilingual website aimed at raising awareness about a Mexican femicide. Lopez jumped at the chance to fund the project after learning that 350 young women have been killed in Ciudad Juarez and Chihuahua since 1993 as she researched new movie BORDERTOWN. In the film, Lopez plays a reporter investigating the murders. Amnesty International officials are keen to make the matter an international concern after learning that federal agents in Mexico closed the case on the murders earlier this summer (06). More than 100 of the young girls killed were raped, strangled and discovered in the desert near Juarez.
