LINDSAY LOHAN - LOHAN RELAPSED, SAYS ATTORNEY

LINDSAY LOHAN's attorney has admitted the ankle bracelet that monitors her alcohol intake failed after the actress was arrested for DUI on Tuesday (24Jul07). The Mean girls star was also arrested for possession of cocaine, transporting a narcotic into a custodial facility and driving on a suspended licence, despite wearing an alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet which is designed to monitoring her drinking. Lohan's attorney Blair Berk admitted in a statement issued to TMZ, that the tag was a failure. The statement read: "Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease. "Since Lindsay transitioned to outpatient care, she has been monitored on a scram bracelet and tested daily in order to support her sobriety. Throughout this period, I have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies. "Unfortunately, late yesterday I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care." Meanwhile, the company who issued Lohan with the scram bracelet told TMZ, "I didn't even know she was arrested."
