Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has been named a "living legend" at the Classic Rock and Roll Honour awards.

The rock god was presented with a vintage Gibson Les Paul guitar by Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler at last night's awards ceremony, with Status Quo, Jeff Wayne and the late Mick Ronson (father of DJ Mark) also honoured.

Page revealed the broken finger which has caused the long-awaited Led Zeppelin reunion concert to be put back by a fortnight will take "a little while to heal".

He told the BBC he had fractured the little finger of his left hand following a fall in his garden, and added: "It's a nuisance because it's really needed."

The band's reunion show - held in memory of late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun - has been postponed until December 10th, but Page promised the reformed Zeppelin would be playing "a lot of the songs that people would want to hear".

Meat Loaf was awarded the classic album prize, but his daughter Pearl Aday collected the gong in his place.

The Bat Out of Hell singer is recovering from acute laryngitis, which caused him to cancel two concerts on his current UK tour.
