LUCY LIU - LIU DIDN'T HESITATE TO TAKE KUNG FU PANDA ROLE

LUCY LIU jumped at the chance to star in Chinese-themed movie KUNG FU PANDA - because both of her parents are from Taiwan.
The actress was born and raised in New York, but has always been proud of her Asian heritage - and was eager to explore it by lending her vocal talents to the animated film.
She says, "It didn't take me long at all to decide I wanted to do this."
And the former Ally MCBeal star insists she is pleased Hollywood is gradually increasing the diversity of roles available to ethnic actors.
She adds: "I think there are more filmmakers out there who are doing more colour blind casting. I'm hoping it will continue to expand. But it is a long process."
