BAI LING - LING: 'BREAK-UP CAUSED SHOPLIFTING'

Chinese movie star BAI LING has blamed her recent arrest for shoplifting on 'boyfriend troubles'. The Crow actress was arrested on Wednesday (13Feb08) after allegedly walking into a terminal gift shop in Los Angeles International Airport - taking two celebrity magazines and a pack of batteries without paying for her goods - worth just $16 (GBP8). But Ling insists the episode was just part of a "crazy day", telling E! News the shoplifting was caused by her having to cope with the "huge problem of breaking up with her boyfriend (before) Valentine's Day (14Feb08)." Ling, 37, was reportedly on her way to Albuquerque in New Mexico to work on new movie Love Ranch, co-starring Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci.
