LINDSAY LOHAN WEIGHS IN ON SARAH PALIN PREGNANCY DEBATE

Lindsay Lohan has criticised vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin over her 17-year-old daughter's pregnancy.

It was revealed last week that the Alaskan senator's teenage daughter Bristol is five months pregnant and with the Republican vice-presidential nominee openly opposed to abortion, the announcement has shrouded the campaign in controversy.

And after scores of political commentators offered their opinions, Hollywood star Lohan has also expressed her concern over Ms Palin's handling of the issue.

Writing on her MySpace page, she commented: "I am concerned with the fact that Sarah Palin brought the attention to her daughter's pregnancy, rather than all world issues and what she believes she could possibly do to change them – if elected.

"I get Sarah Palin's views against abortion, but I would much prefer to hear more about what she can do for our country rather than how her daughter is going to have a child no matter what."

The actress also expressed her fears that many teenage girls are "CHOOSING" to be sexually active and growing up unnecessarily fast.

She called on US parents to discuss the ramifications of unprotected sex with their children.

As well as commenting on the current political scene, Lohan, 22, reiterated her affection for girlfriend Samantha Ronson, adding a dedication to the love song Trouble by Ray LaMontagne.
