LEDGER HATES COMIC MOVIES

New BATMAN villain HEATH LEDGER is an unlikely choice to play THE JOKER in the next superhero sequel - because comic book movies "bore" him. The Australian actor beat an A-list group of contenders to the coveted role, but he admits he's only interested in the franchise because of the success of director CHRISTOPHER NOLAN's BATMAN RETURNS. Ledger says, "I actually hate comic book movies, like f**king hate them. They just bore me f**kless and they're just dumb. "I thought what Chris Nolan did with Batman was actually really good, really well directed, and Christian Bale was really great in it." He also reveals how he will play The Joker: "I'm going to be less about his laugh and his pranks and more about just him being a just a f**king sinister guy."
