Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones has revealed the band is to meet this month to discuss the possibility of a tour.

In an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Jones said the success of the legends' reunion concert at London's O2 Arena could inspire them to play together again.

"There is a band meeting in January, it could be fun to do more stuff," he said.

While the rock gods have been linked with a world tour and appearances at festivals across the world since their history-making show last month, all three surviving Zeppelin members have remained reticent regarding the likelihood of a series of live dates to follow their gig for the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert.

Though the bassist said he was unsure of the plans of guitarist Jimmy Page and lead singer Robert Plant, he added: "We'll start talking to each other soon."

Jones also lauded the performance of drummer Jason Bonham who filled in for his late father at the London reunion show.

"A lot of the fills were not what his dad did at all," he explained. He's as fearless as his dad, that's for sure.

"But he did an amazing job, when you consider that he had to answer to every drummer in the world after that show."

He continued: "With that sort of pressure, to bring all that off was astonishing. Kashmir was absolutely wonderful, the way he led in and out of the choruses and bridges."

Around 20 million people tried to register for £125 tickets to the December 11th reunion concert, which also featured Pete Townshend, Foreigner, Bill Wyman and Paolo Nutini.
