LED ZEPPELIN - LED ZEPPELIN FANS LAUNCH PETITION FOR WORLD TOUR

LED ZEPPELIN fans have created an online petition begging the legendary band to reunite for a world tour. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones teamed up with late drummer John Bonham's son Jason in December (07) for a one-off performance in London, and fans have been waiting for what they feel is an inevitable world tour announcement ever since. Last month (Jan08), guitarist Page told a press conference in Japan that the band was "musically ready" to play around the world, but would have to wait until September (08) because of Plant's touring commitments with singing partner Alison Krauss - if they do decide to tour at all. Now some enterprising Led Zeppelin followers, who claim to be in touch with the band's promoter, have launched a petition on campaigning website YouChoose.net, asking the rockers to undertake a world tour. So far 8,500 people have signed up. The petition reads: "If you think that it is not fair that only people in the U.K. had a chance to see Led Zeppelin please sign this petition. "We think Led Zep needs to go on a world tour. There are younger and even older fans that never got to see the great Led Zeppelin in concert. We want to be part of history. We want one of the greatest rock bands to tour."
