TROUBLE - LAMONTAGNE HAS TO STAY SOBER

Melancholic rocker RAY LaMONTAGNE forces himself not to drink alcohol, because he is prone to depression and fears the consequences. The TROUBLE singer is scared there's a beast within him that will be unleashed if he drinks. He says, "I try not to (drink) as I have a tendency towards melancholy. So if I start drinking I get drawn deeper and deeper into anger. It escalates until I am somewhere I don't want to be. "So I try to be aware of that and realise that moderation is the key."
