ROY ORBISON - LAKEMAN TRIUMPHS AT FOLK AWARDS



English folk singer SETH LAKEMAN walked away with two of the biggest prizes at last week's (ends09FEB07) BBC Radio Two Folk Awards, clinching both Singer and Album Of The Year. The 29-year-old was lauded for his efforts on FREEDOM FIELDS, which was released last year (06). Other winners at the ceremony included CHRIS THILE, who picked up Musician Of The Year, and acoustic bass player DANNY THOMPSON, who earned a Lifetime Achievement Award. Thompson boasts a 40-year career in the industry, playing with stars like ROY ORBISON and ROD STEWART.
