LABEOUF'S ARREST WARRANT WAIVED
LATEST: A warrant for the arrest of SHIA LaBEOUF has been recalled a day after the actor failed to show up in court to face an unlawful smoking charge. The Transformers star missed a hearing in Burbank, California on Tuesday (18Mar08), relating to an incident last month (Feb08) when he was cited for lighting up in a non-smoking shopping area. Authorities issued a $1,000 (GBP500) bench warrant for his arrest. But on Wednesday (19Mar08) court Commissioner Kirkland Nyby discarded the warrant after LaBeouf's attorney turned up to plead not guilty on the 21-year-old's behalf. A pre-trial hearing has been set for 24 April (08). LaBeouf's latest legal woe comes just months after the actor was arrested for trespassing in a Chicago, Illinois drugstore. The 21-year-old was charged with a public misdemeanour in November (07), after refusing to leave the store while drunk. The charges were later dropped.
