ROD STEWART - LABEL SNUBS STEWART'S COUNTRY DREAMS

Rocker Rod Stewart's son SEAN has escaped serious injury after he was involved in a major car crash last week, when his vehicle was hit by a drunk driver.
The 27-year....
Veteran rocker ROD STEWART is enraged with music label bosses - after they refused to let him record a country-inspired album.
The Maggie May hitmaker is desperate to record country classics for a new LP, but his decision was reportedly blocked by executives at his label J Records after music fans panned the idea.
He says, "Everybody there (at J Records) is against that, which makes me want to do it even more. Apparently, the idea didn't test well, whatever the f**k that means."
But the rocker, who is set to release the final LP in his Great American Songbook series later in the year (08), insists he will try and release a country record - so he can say he has tried everything in his music career.
He explains, "I want to do records for my own peace of mind. So when I do kick the bucket (die), I can say, 'I did that.'"
However, legendary music mogul Clive Davis - who is the CEO of J Records - intends on a more festive direction for the British musician.
He says, "Clive Davis wanted a Christmas album but I'm not into that so much."

I don't care much for country music and can't see Rod crossing that bridge. That
would just be horrible. However, I LOVE Christmas! And I've been waiting for a
Rod Stewart Xmas album. That would ROCK!

Country or Christmas - I've been waiting for years. Not another "Songbook".
