KYLIE MINOGUE - KYLIE SPLITS FROM ACTOR BEAU

Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue and French actor Olivier Martinez have announced their four-year relationship has ended.

The pair, who were once rumoured for marriage, cited the reason for the split as "mutual and amicable".

Kylie, 38, recently returned to the stage 18 months after successfully battling breast cancer. Resuming her postponed Showgirl tour in Sydney in November the popstar joked that she was "fashionably late".

The singer also fell ill at her Manchester show in January causing the gig to be cancelled. Doctors told Kylie she should not perform in the near future and have a break after suffering from a "moderately severe respiratory tract infection".

However recent tabloid speculation on the fidelity of Martinez was criticised by the pair in the official statement, saying: "The media's false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both."

The Daily Telegraph in Kylie's native Australia alleged that Martinez has been romantically linked to Lost actress Michelle Rodriguez and Israeli model Sarai Givati while with Kylie.

But the statement from the couple reads: "They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable."

It adds: "The two remain very close friends."
