Kylie Minogue will release her first new single since being diagnosed with breast cancer in November, it has been confirmed today.

The Australian songstress is to release 2 Hearts on the Parlophone record label on November 12th.

The physical release of the single will be preceded by the arrival of the download a week earlier.

2 Hearts will be Kylie's first new material in more than two years and follows her successful battle with cancer after being told she had the disease in 2005.

A perfect example of Kylie's soft electro-pop, the single is an early taster of a new album to be released later this year.

Speaking about the album last month, the 39-year-old said that she had been working on the record for the last year and a half and was struggling to cut down a wealth of songs she had put together for it.

The new track was co-written by London-based Kish Mauve – a fourpiece electro-pop group with a sound very much in line with the former Neighbours star.

Scissor Sisters, Groove Armada and Calvin Harris are also reported to have been involved in the making of the new album.
