Knoxville admits he would have been all wrong to play the country legend in the hit 2005 biopic - but he would have loved to have been given the chance. He says, "In hindsight, I'm glad I didn't get that (part). Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor, but he's playing an American icon, my hero.
