BEVERLEY KNIGHT - KNIGHT MADE MBE

Soul singer BEVERLEY KNIGHT was made a Member Of The Order Of The British Empire (MBE) yesterday (28FEB07) for her services to music. The COME AS YOU ARE star, who is also an ambassador for charities including Christian Aid, was struck by the "remarkable aura" surrounding British monarch QUEEN ELIZABETH II when she collected her award at Buckingham Palace in London. The 33-year-old says "All the formalities, like the line-up, I wasn't worried about. I knew what I had to do and when to do it. "But actually being faced with Her Majesty right there in front of you, she has a remarkable aura and that is the first thing I noticed about her."
