KITTIE'S FATHER/MANAGER DIES

The father of two members of Canadian rocker group KITTIE has died.
David Lander - who was in his fifties - reportedly suffered a heart attack last weekend (02-03Aug08). He was father to guitarist Morgan Lander and drummer Mercedes Lander, and was also the band's longtime manager.
Morgan Lander paid tribute to her father and praised his dedication to the all-girl group.
She tells Blabbermouth.net, "We wanted to extend our appreciation for all of the support and kind words we have received in the days since my father's passing.
"He was an amazing man who lived and breathed Kittie, and he will be missed by many. The next show at the Key club in Hollywood, California (on 20Aug08) is the last one he booked, so it is very important to us. We all owe it to him to make it a good one, regardless of how hard it is going to be. Please come out, pay your respects."
