KIDS TV PRESENTER 'DISTRAUGHT' OVER GIRLFRIEND'S DEATH

LATEST: A BBC children's presenter arrested on suspicion of murdering his girlfriend is "absolutely distraught" over her death. Mark Speight was arrested in connection with the demise of his partner Natasha Collins, who was found dead in the bath of the north London home they shared on Thursday (03Jan08). But he has denied any involvement in her death, according to a statement released on his behalf. The statement reads, "Mark has been questioned by the police on account of the fact that the body of his fiancee was found in the flat they shared. "At the moment no one knows what happened. Mark found her body in the bathroom and immediately called an ambulance and the police. "Mark was the only other person present in the flat and has therefore been questioned by police as a matter of course." Speight has been bailed until the first week of February (08) on suspicion of murder and supplying cocaine. The cause of Collins' death has not yet been revealed. However, a Metropolitan Police spokesman says it is being treated as "unexplained".
