KIDMAN'S SECRET ENGAGEMENT

Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman has said that she was engaged to someone in between her marriages to Tom Cruise and Keith Urban.

In an interview in the latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine, the Oscar winner said she did not marry the unidentified man as she was not ready at the time.

"It just wasn't right. I wasn't ready. We weren't ready," she said.

The Hours star also revealed details about her marriage to Tom Cruise, adding that she suffered a miscarriage early in their wedded life.

"From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies. We lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic," she said.

Kidman, who adopted two children with Cruise, also spoke about how she had been advised not to marry the Mission Impossible star as it would harm her career.

"My agents told me, 'Once you become Mrs Tom Cruise, you do know your career is going to die'.

"I was appalled, I was like, 'Hello? I'm in love, and I don't care if it's shooting myself in the foot. I'd much rather be married and have a family,'" she added.

The actress said that she still valued her time with Cruise.

"I was in love with him, which is why I think we lasted 11-and-a-half years together. I have no regrets in that relationship."

Kidman, who is currently married to country singer Urban, said she was hoping to have another child.

"I'm yearning to have one. I think it would be very sad if I wasn't able to have a baby. Keith knows I want one, and he has been getting there slowly," she added.
