KELIS - KELIS ACQUITTED OF CHARGES IN 2007 INCIDENT

R+B singer KELIS has been acquitted of all charges following accusations of disrupting a police operation in 2007.
The 29-year-old star - real name Kelis Rogers-Jones - was found not guilty by a jury on Thursday (11Sep08).
It was claimed she had screamed profanities as she rushed towards police officers who were talking to a group of men including her husband, rapper Nas, in Miami, Florida.
The Milkshake singer was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence in police reports filed in March (07).
In a statement to The Associated Press, the singer said the case "sheds light on the fact that wearing a uniform and carrying a badge does not allow you to act above the law".
