DIANE KEATON - KEATON DESIGNS FURNITURE RANGE

Hollywood star DIANE KEATON is launching her own range of furniture. The actress has been fascinated with design since childhood, when her dad introduced her to the California architecture that inspired her new creations. The 61-year-old says of her new venture, "I've never done anything like this before. I've really enjoyed trying to imagine how the California indoor/outdoor lifestyle could be mass-produced. "The furniture that I'm interested in is what I've collected in the past - Monterey furniture. Monterey furniture is indigenous to Southern California. It was made and created in the late 1920s. "My father worked for the Department of Power and Water and when I was a little girl we'd go to downtown Los Angeles and it was like a stunning wonderland to me." The veteran star recently paid tribute to her passion for classic Californian architecture in a new photo book featuring classic Spanish homes. The coffee table book is titled California Romantica.
