Hip hop star Kanye West is back in the headlines again after rounding on MTV for not giving him stage space or any gongs at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.

West, who has produced two smash hit albums in the shape of The College Dropout and Late Registration, was in Las Vegas for the ceremony having garnered five nominations.

However, after missing out on all five, reports suggest the rap star was far from happy.

According to the Associated Press, West was livid after watching other stars collecting their awards.

"Give a black man a chance," he stormed, before apparently vowing never to return to MTV.

With a history of awards tantrums it is perhaps not surprising that West has flared up once more. Previously he walked out of the American Music Awards after losing in 2004 and mounted the stage in 2006 at the MTV Europe Music Awards when he missed out on best video.

However, there could be some good news around the corner, with the eagerly-awaited album Graduation set to be released in the US tomorrow.

The record goes head-to-head with the latest offering from fellow hip hop star 50 Cent, whose new album, Curtis, will be out on the same day.

The pair have already been talking up the rivalry, with 'Fiddy' even saying he would not record again if his album was outsold by West.

Of course he'll return to MTV his ego will get the better of him...oh wait it already has. What a crybaby. And give a black man a chance? MTV is all about equal opportunity. Starting with Yo' MTV Raps a dozen or so yrs ago. They helped pave the way for people like kanye. I can't believe I'm defending MTV (I can't stand the channel anymore), but this guy is outta hand!
