AMANDA SEYFRIED - JUNO TEAM CAST FOLLOW-UP

The production team behind Oscar hopeful Juno have continued casting the follow-up to their acclaimed pregnancy comedy.

Former sex worker Diablo Cody has followed her Oscar-nominated Juno script by penning comedy-horror Jennifer's Body, while Jason Reitman will produce the movie, set to begin shooting in Vancouver this March.

Transformers star Megan Fox is to play the lead in the Fox Atomic film, portraying a demonically-possessed cheerleader who begins to take her pick of the high school boys in a Minnesota farming town.

And according to the Hollywood Reporter, Mean Girls star Amanda Seyfried has now been cast as her aptly-named best friend Needy, forced to take desperate measures to protect the small town from Jennifer's ravenous rampage.

A regular cast member of HBO's Big Love, Seyfried is to play Sophie, the lead in Mamma Mia!, the movie adaptation of the hugely successful musical.

Seyfried is to star opposite Meryl Streep as the bride-to-be who contacts the three men who could be her real father - played by Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan and Stellen Skarsgard - in a tale told through the music of Abba.

Karyn Kusama will direct Jennifer's Body while Juno's Reitman will produce alongside Dan Dubiecki and Mason Novick.

Juno hits UK screens on Friday February 8th.
