JUANES PLANS FREE CONCERT TO URGE LATIN AMERICAN PEACE TALKS

Colombian rocker JUANES is set to headline a free concert on the Colombia-Venezuela border to urge the conflicting nations to resolve their political issues. The 35-year-old Latin Grammy-winner is hoping to team up with other Latin artists at the concert to put on a show of unity to demand the region's governments begin discussions to find a resolution for the crisis. The concert will take place in between the Colombian city of Cucuta and the Venezuelan city of San Antonio de Tachira within the next three weeks, according to reports. In recent months, relations between the Andean nations, including Ecuador, have been taut - with the dispute stemming from the alleged Columbian troop killings of a large number of guerrillas, including a top rebel leader, in Ecuadorian territory. The Un Día Normal star is famed for his humanitarian work - he previously performed at the Nobel Peace Prize awards ceremony in 2007 to raise awareness of anti-personnel mines in Colombia.
