Iconic singing star GRACE JONES has infuriated the organisers of a top British event after refusing to take to the stage - until she was paid in full before her set.
According to reports, the former Bond girl had already been paid $100,000 (GBP50,000) to take part in LG Electronics' Scarlet TV launch in London's Marylebone on Wednesday (30Apr08).
But just before she was due at the venue, Jones decided to remain in her suite at The Dorchester hotel, refusing to emerge until she was paid the remainder of her $150,000 (GBP75,000) fee upfront.
Disappointed fans reportedly booed when a representative for Jones was forced to take to the stage and apologise for her absence.
A source tells British tabloid The Daily Mirror, "Organisers were gobsmacked."
