QUINCY JONES - JONES HAS NO PLANS TO STEP DOWN AS OLYMPICS MASTERMIND

Music mogul QUINCY JONES has announced he'll continue to participate in the Beijing Olympics, despite increasing pressure to follow STEVEN SPIELBERG and step down.
Spielberg pulled out as the 2008 Olympics' artistic director in February (08) over China's refusal to help end genocide in the war-torn Darfur region of Sudan.
But, although the music producer respects the director's decision, he won't be following him.
Speaking before an appearance at the Committee of 100's Annual Conference in Beverly Hills on Saturday (19Apr08), Jones made his position clear, explaining he had spoken to celebrity Darfur advocates like George Clooney and Mia Farrow about his decision to stay on as the Olympics' musical director.
He told the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "In times like this, people have to sit down with each other and talk things out... You don't solve anything with isolation.
"Everyone has to make their own decision and I'm sticking with this one until we get something done."
Jones met with Chinese officials at the United Nations in New York on Friday (18Apr08) to reiterate his concerns about Darfur and his hopes for peace.
