JONAH HILL - JONAH HILL AND RUSSELL BRAND TO REUNITE FOR BUDDY COMEDY
Forgetting Sarah Marshall stars Jonah Hill and Russell Brand are to team up on a new comedy from producer Judd Apatow.
Nick Stoller, who directed the pair in the romantic comedy hit, set to open on UK screens on Wednesday, is to write and shoot Hill and Brand in Get Him to the Greek, according to Variety.
In Forgetting Sarah Marshall, British comedian Brand stars as Aldous Snow, a flamboyant rockstar who steals the titular Ms Marshall from her long-term boyfriend Peter (Jason Segel).
When Peter decides to take a vacation to Hawaii to clear his head, he ends up at the same resort and his ex and her new boyfriend, while Aldous is routinely bothered by an obsessive waiter (Superbad star Hill).
And according to Stoller, the comedy potential of a Hill and Brand double-act was too good to ignore.
"During the table read on Sarah Marshall, Jonah and Russell had such a great chemistry," he explained.
"Even though they are such different actors with different styles, I thought there could be a great buddy comedy there."
Get Him to Greek will feature Hill as a newly-graduated insurance adjuster who is tasked with ensuring that Brand's wild musician makes his way safely from London to the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
Stoller is currently co-writing the comedy Five Year Engagement with Forgetting Sarah Marshall collaborator Segel, who is also attached to star, before the pair begin work on their new Muppet movie.
