ANGELINA JOLIE - JOLIE ENDS RIFT WITH VOIGHT

ANGELINA JOLIE ended her rift with her estranged father JON VOIGHT on Christmas Day (25Dec07) by reaching out with a telephone call. The pair hadn't spoken since Voight told a U.S. television show in June 2002 that he hoped Jolie sought help for her "serious emotional problems". Voight, 69, has since attempted to patch things up with his daughter, and last month (Dec07) said, "I'm very impressed with Angelina's work, with some of the humanitarian things, and she's a great actress. "I am always thinking of Brad and the kids. I'm sending my love that way." A source tells the National Enquirer that Jolie called her father while spending Christmas in New Orleans with partner Brad Pitt and their four children. The friend reveals, "It was a short call, but it meant the world to both of them. It was something for them to build on, and Jon couldn't say enough good things about the way his daughter is conducting her life."
