JACK JOHNSON - JOHNSON HITS COACHELLA WITH A HEAVY HEART AS PAL DIES IN HOSPITAL

Surf-rocker JACK JOHNSON will have mixed emotions when he headlines the Coachella Festival in California on Friday night (25Apr08) because his friend is dying.
The singer-songwriter's pal has terminal cancer and Johnson has been keeping a vigil by his bedside.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times newspaper, Johnson admits he has even performed his most intimate gig - in his dying friend's hospital room.
He says, "It was an amazing night. It felt so much more positive than I thought it was going to be."
It's the second tragedy in a year for the laid-back star, who dedicated his new album, Sleep Through The Static, to his wife's teenage cousin Danny Riley after he died of a brain tumour last year (07).
