SCARLETT JOHANSSON - JOHANSSON BRIBED LOST IN TRANSLATION DIRECTOR

SCARLETT JOHANSSON was so insecure about having her bum on show in the opening sequence to hit film LOST IN TRANSLATION, she resorted to bribing the artistic director to make it look flattering. The award-winning actress, who plays a Lolita-type temptress in the 2004 production, told the man in charge of the slow, lingering sequence panning over her semi-transparent knickers, to make her bum look pretty - or he'd lose his job. She says, "I told the director of photography that if he made my arse look bad he'd never work again! "He was like, 'I promise you - it will look really nice.' I said, 'OK, I'm trusting you,' and he came through. My arse looked OK."

Ms. Johansson's action described in the article (with no byline identifying the
so-called author) was a THREAT, not a BRIBE. There is an important distiction
between the words; they have very different definitions. Might I suggest
purchasing a dictionary and a thesaurus for the writer? And perhaps the editor
as well? This is another sad example of the dumbing-down that surrounds us.
