BILLY JOEL is glad he turned his back on classical music to be a rocker - because pop music has brought him more fun and more money.
The Uptown Girl star started out playing Mozart on the piano as a kid, but he lacked the attention and focus, and strayed.
But he admits the classics are still his first love.
Joel tells the New York Daily News, "I only listen to classical music on the radio. (But) classical musicians are maniacs. It's such a hard life - you have to live it 24/7. I definitely had more fun in rock 'n' roll."
