JET - JET SCRAP SHOWS

Australian rockers JET have scrapped shows in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Toronto, Canada to allow singer NIC CESTER to recover from a bout of acute laryngitis. The ARE YOU GONNA BE MY GIRL singer has been told to rest his raspy voice for up to five days, prompting the cancellation of shows tonight (29SEP06) and on Sunday (01OCT06). Jet's tour is expected to resume on Tuesday (03OCT06) in Los Angeles. The lost dates are expected to be rescheduled in November (06). Cester's brother and bandmate CHRIS says, "In Australia, we say, 'I am absolutely gutted,' when the gravity of the situation is overwhelming. After all the work we've done on our new album, SHINE ON, and on making this tour something special, all of us are very disappointed with the news of Nic's laryngitis. "Our sincerest apologies to all of our fans. When we return, it will of course be with a vengeance."
