JAMIE T - JAMIE T: 'STING IS SO UNCOOL'

Pop newcomer JAMIE T refuses to multi-task and fill in for his missing bassist during his US tour, because he doesn't want to look "uncool" like STING. The singer, real name Jamie Treays, admits he could easily replace his bass player - who was denied a US visa because he has a criminal record - but fears he will lose his credibility if he ends up looking like the Police star. He says, "I could if I practised, but I like running around and strumming. The bass is meant to stand still. Plus I don't like the idea of looking like Sting. That's uncool." And while Treays admits to being a fan of The Police, he isn't keen on Sting's solo material. He adds, "It makes me wanna be sick, but hey he's good, he's good..."
